The Cooperative Development Foundation
CDF’s Mission: To promote self-help and mutual aid in community, economic and social development through cooperative enterprise.
2011 has been a productive year for the Cooperative Development Foundation. CDF made $144,000 in grant awards and scholarships that support the growth, development, and recovery from natural disasters of cooperative business enterprises. CDF raised $206,500 for co-op recovery from devastating natural disasters in the United States and Japan. (VFC shoppers donated $216 for Japanese recovery from the nuclear disaster last Spring.)
Through its administration of a workplace giving program, United Co-op Appeal, CDF has raised more than $65,000 in operations support for many of its sister cooperative development organizations.
To support our own substantive work in cooperative development, CDF has received foundation and federal government grant awards of $225,000.
Through special events and contributions from our loyal supporters, CDF has raised more than $250,000 to support our own operations.
