Reserve your Thanksgiving Turkey!

Thanksgiving is fast approaching and the Viroqua Food Cooperative would like to make your Thanksgiving holiday a little bit easier.

Once again we have teamed up with our long time dear friend Rich Lange from Lange Farms in Platteville, Wisconsin to offer you a fresh, family-farm raised, 100% organic turkey. 50 organic turkeys from Lange Farms are ordered.

VFC is offering a second choice this year, naturally raised turkey from Ferndale Market. 30 Ferndale turkeys have been ordered.

In order to reserve your turkey please sign up at the checkout aisles and pay a $20, non-refundable deposit which will go toward the purchase of your turkey. Sign up sheets and prices are available at the store on November 1st. You can call the store and reserve a turkey with your debit or credit card.

All these birds are fresh, never frozen, and arrive Saturday Nov. 20, and must be picked up by Wednesday, Nov. 24. We are not reserving according to size this year. Most the turkeys will arrive between 12 and 16 lbs. First come, first served on your size choices.

If you don’t need a whole turkey, we  offer naturally raised Turkey Breasts. These weigh about 8 lbs. each; perfect for a smaller gathering. In addition, we stock Turkey Tenderloins in the freezer in 2 lb. packages. You will find fresh ducks and cornish hens in our meat case the week before Thanksgiving, so get them while they last!

If you are considering a holiday meal featuring seafood, we can help! We can order a wide variety of fresh and frozen seafood, including oysters, shrimp, ahi tuna, salmon, and much more. Just call David in the Meat Department for availability and prices. Be sure to give about one week of lead time.
