Ayurveda originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is considered by many scholars to be the oldest healing science. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “the science of life”.
In this introductory workshop, we will cover the basic principles of Ayurevda:
-
Health is based on living balance with our own nature and with Mother Nature.
-
Disease is a consequence of imbalance.
-
Each of us is born with a unique constitution – a combination of the three basic energy types (vata, pitta, kapha) called “doshas.”
-
The balance of our constitutions in affected by what we put into and onto our bodies, by the world around us, and by our lifestyle & activities.
-
By choosing balancing substances & activities, we can improve our health.
